About JRC

JRC concentrates on professional shipping. What the company has been pushing in recent years is digitalisation and the smart ship: equipment that does not stand on its own but shares data, so that the work on the bridge becomes easier to oversee.

The range is correspondingly broad. JRC radars, ECDIS, VDR voyage data recorders and satellite systems such as Inmarsat and VSAT all come from the same house, and it shows in the way they work together. For merchant vessels, workboats and fishing that is the difference between separate units and one system.

JRC and Alphatron Marine belong together: the Rotterdam arm of the group builds the bridge solutions in which the JRC technology ends up. If you come across a JRC radar next to an Alphatron display here, that is no coincidence.
