Alphatron JMR-611 River Radar — New

The Alphatron JMR-611 is the current generation river radar from Alphatron Marine and JRC, supplied new with twelve months of warranty.

Overview

The JMR-611 was designed around the two things that make inland radar difficult: clutter and weather. With a GPS compass connected it suppresses wave return effectively on open water, so a picture that used to disappear in a stiff breeze on the Waddenzee or the Westerschelde stays readable. The operating interface was rebuilt for speed rather than depth of menus, and both monitors meet the current reflection requirements for radar displays, which matters for the type approval of the installation as a whole. The scanner and its motor are aerodynamically shaped and built for extreme weather, where an older bar with a flat profile catches wind and ices up.

The JMR-611 follows the JMA-608, JMA-609 and JMA-610 in the inland radar range. Antennas and installation practice carry over from that line, which keeps a step-by-step upgrade practical.
