An Alphatron JMA-608 river radar set with flat screen, tested, working and in good condition.
Overview
The JMA-608 is the flat-screen generation of Alphatron’s inland radar, the set that replaced the cathode ray tube installations in a great many wheelhouses. It gives the picture size and the range and bearing tools that inland radar navigation requires, driven by a slotted antenna, with the controls laid out so they can be worked without looking away from the water. Sets are still approved and in daily service, which makes this an affordable route to a certified radar installation.
Part of the JRC / Alphatron River Radar Line
The JMA-608 was followed by the JMA-609, the JMA-610 and the current JMR-611. Antennas and cabling are shared across much of the line, so parts remain easy to find.
