Description
Description
An Alphatron Alpha BNWAS remote reset button panel, new and unopened in its original packaging.
Overview
A Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System monitors that the officer of the watch is still active, and escalates in stages, a visual prompt, then an audible alarm on the bridge, then a call to the backup officer and finally to the rest of the crew, if the watchkeeper does not respond within the set time. To reset the timer the watchkeeper has to make a deliberate action, and this panel is that reset point away from the main unit: on a bridge wing, at the chart table or wherever the officer actually stands. Fitting reset panels at the working positions is what makes a BNWAS installation practical rather than an irritation, and it is part of a SOLAS-compliant fit.
