Frequently asked questions

What do the conditions new, refurbished, tested, used, untested and for parts mean?

Every item carries one of six conditions, and that condition also sets the warranty. New is unused in its original packaging, with twelve months of warranty. Refurbished has been checked by our own engineers, cleaned and repaired where needed, also twelve months. Tested has been found working by us without a full overhaul, with three months. Used we sell as it is, with the condition stated. Untested was removed in working order but not checked afterwards, and for parts is not sold as a working unit. Every product page says which condition applies; the full explanation is on condition and warranty. Sale covers ex-display units and remaining stock.

Do you also buy used marine electronics or take equipment in part exchange?

Yes. We buy remaining stock, trade-ins and used equipment from vessels, yards and other suppliers. Send us the make, type and condition with a few photographs through a trade-in request; you will usually hear within one working day what we can do. Trading in against another unit is possible too. Rather talk it through first? Get in touch.

Does refurbished radar, AIS or ECDIS still meet current regulations?

Where it matters, we state the survey and certification status in the product description. If a unit no longer meets the current SOLAS or CESNI requirements, we say so clearly, so you know what you are buying.

Do you have parts for marine electronics that are no longer made?

That is one of our strengths. Our stock regularly holds parts and units for older, out-of-production systems that are hard to find elsewhere. Often that keeps an existing installation running without replacing everything. Not listed? Place a request.

How do I know which unit fits what is on board now?

Send us the brand, the type number, the part number and a photo of the type plate. We compare that with our stock and suggest a matching or equivalent alternative. You can do that through contact or with a request.

Is all equipment tested before it is shipped?

Everything we sell as refurbished has been measured through by our own technical department. If by exception we sell something untested or with unknown function, we say so explicitly and the price reflects it.

Can you supply a complete fit-out for a refit?

Yes. For larger orders, a complete bridge renewal or several units at once, it is better to request a price from us than to order everything separately.

Why do prices for comparable units differ so much?

That depends on where they come from: remaining stock, part exchange, a large purchase or a model that is out of production. A tested unit with warranty is priced differently from a sale item or something sold as it is.

Do you only supply commercial shipping?

No. We supply commercial shipping, workboats, fishing and offshore, and just as readily private skippers.

Can I order several identical units, for a fleet for example?

Often yes, certainly with remaining stock and used equipment where several of the same model come in. Ask us how many are in stock before you order.

What if a refurbished or used unit fails after all?

Report it as soon as you can. We assess what is wrong and put it right within the warranty and the returns terms that belong to that product.

Do you ship marine electronics outside Europe as well?

Yes, we ship worldwide. The cost and the options depend on the destination and on the weight and size of the unit; outside Europe we set the shipping cost per shipment and you hear the amount in advance. Collection is possible too: our stock is held in the warehouse in Urk, with the workshop next door.

How often does new stock come in?

Continuously: remaining stock, part exchanges and refurbished units come in all year round. Of sought-after models there is often only one, so check the shop regularly or ask us about a particular model.

How can I pay?

You can pay with iDEAL and Wero, by credit card, with Bancontact or by bank transfer. With a transfer the unit leaves as soon as the payment has come in.

Where is my order and how do I track it?

As soon as your parcel leaves us we send the tracking number by email. With it you can follow the shipment on the track your shipment page; you can also search there by postcode and house number. For a shipment made to measure, such as a radar on a pallet, tracking does not run through that page and we will let you know personally when it is coming.

Why do some items say price on request?

For part of our stock the price depends on the version, the condition or exactly what is included. We would rather quote a figure that holds than one that turns out differently later. Request the price at the item or through contact; you will usually have the price and lead time within one working day.

Are prices with or without VAT, and can I buy as a business?

Both. At the top of the shop you can switch between private and business; business shows prices excluding VAT and private including. Every product page lists both figures underneath each other, so you always see what you pay. Buying as a business inside the EU with a valid VAT number? Enter it at checkout.

I cannot find what I am looking for. What now?

Send us the brand, the type or the part number. A large part of our stock is not online yet; we check it for you and come back with the price and the lead time. Place a request.
